Consultation

The Screenplay Workshop’s Director and Founder Jill Chamberlain has helped over a thousand screenwriters find their stories. And now she offers private story consultation and instruction at affordable rates. For about the cost of a group workshop, you could work one-on-one with Jill over the course of several private sessions. You could work with her to develop your script idea into a workable film treatment, learn The Screenplay Workshop’s straightforward writing techniques, and receive professional feedback and guidance throughout the process as you take your screenplay from start to finish. Or, you could focus on just the areas you feel need improvement, because all consultations are tailored to your needs and your schedule.

Save some money with our Private Instruction & Story Consultation Package — and, more significantly, you’ll also be making a commitment to yourself and your writing. You’ll receive five 90-minute consultations — a total of 7½ hours private instruction & story consultation — to be scheduled at your convenience. Follow the instructions here to register for the Private Consultation Package. You can also sign up for single private consultation appointments (90 minutes each).

If you’ve completed a feature-length script, you’ll want to sign up for the Flat Rate Script Consultation. This includes an extensive script review, analysis, and detailed mark-up of your screenplay and a meeting up to 90 minutes long with Jill to go over her recommendations.

All consultations can be done either as a face-to-face meeting in central Austin or via Skype. In fact, Jill has worked with screenwriters all over the world — throughout North America and Europe and as far away as New Zealand.

Jill Chamberlain is also available at an hourly rate for private consultation and individualized services including: story consultation, professional screenwriting services, script doctoring, script critiques and private instruction & tutorials. She can also work with your organization to tailor a workshop specifically for your group, as she has done with past clients like Maryland Institute College of Art, ScriptFest/The Great American Pitchfest, Austin Film Society, Writers’ League of Texas,  Austin School of Film, Austin Screenwriters Group, Reel Women, The Writers Garret of Dallas and others. For availability and rates, please e-mail us (consult@thescreenplayworkshop.org) with a brief description of your needs, and also include your timeframe, your phone number(s), and the best time(s) to reach you at each one. You can also leave us a voicemail by calling (512) 843-2998. We’ll get back to you ASAP.
