About Us

THE SCREENPLAY WORKSHOP is the educational divison of Moving Pictures Productions, an award-winning film production company established in 1994.

Our mission is to bring the best in screenwriting instruction and story consultation to anyone, anywhere. We offer ongoing group workshops, one- and two-day weekend intensives, and short courses, as well as individual, private consulting services including story consultation, screenwriting services, script doctoring, and private instruction and tutorials. We can work with your organization to tailor seminars or classes exclusively for your group. Previous clients include Austin School of Film, Austin Screenwriters Group, The Writers Garret of Dallas, Reel Women and others.

All of our programs and services are available in-person and online via online video and/or teleconferencing.


JILL CHAMBERLAIN is Founder and Director of The Screenplay Workshop and has helped over 200 individuals find their story in her seminars and workshops. She is a professional screenwriter, story consultant and script doctor whose stories have been seen in theaters across the U.S. and on three continents. Jill studied in the MFA film program at Columbia University, where she also received her undergraduate degree in English.
